The Most Needed Budget Changes!
It has been my keen observation that all civilized nations have a system in place where being an average person is more powerful. You have rights because you are simply a citizen.
Thats why it takes a lot of effort to be citizen of those countries. In the civilized world, people in power are more accountable for their personal lives (they are held accountable) and definately in therejobs. There is an accountability system which keeps things running.
Now I'll address the main reason I am writing, which I believe in very strongly , that we should forget about all foriegn investments, I.T. implementation, and buying expensive and fancy gadgetry to prove that our nation is progressing. The reform should start with very basic rebuilding of three main sectors:

Now I'll address the main reason I am writing, which I believe in very strongly , that we should forget about all foriegn investments, I.T. implementation, and buying expensive and fancy gadgetry to prove that our nation is progressing. The reform should start with very basic rebuilding of three main sectors:
- Police Force The first step would be to substantially increase the salaries of our police force, by two hundred percent even.
Then, you can take same steps to improve other departments of our government.
- First, by increasing salaries of the police force by at least by a hundred percent and giving the status of an average army junior officer. This includes the amenities and privileges the junior officers recieve as well, such as housing, retirement fund, and free education for their offspring.
- Additionally, we need to more police force with different levels of specialised training.
- I will say it again, because it is just that important, that we need to increase our police force in numbers too. We need to market these important jobs to lots of unemployed Pakistanis, for that may have to lower the scale, but increase basic pay during training.
- Its seems that most of the time, since the police isn't held accountable, this in turn corrupts the whole society. We need to keep a vigilant check on our Pakistani Police Department.
- Secondly, Medical Care is in dire need of attention. Let's keep the health programs simple, but well-spread, to the most remote town or village. We should be able to access minimum medical care by showing our National I.D. card.
- We should make a three-layer medical care system which is accessable by every individual. Again, I stress that if medical care providers such as nurses, doctors, and lab technicians are better paid, and regular checks on their performance made this plan will be successful.
- Equally important, is the need to implement compulsory education for all children. If children do not show up in school, the parents should be held responsible. I realize the government is quite active in the education sector recently, but without accountability, no initiative will work. School should be free up to high school, with compulosry vocational training, whic makes the individual ready to work befoe they burn their money over education that will not yield a job. As there is a dire need to rebuild our nation, we should start fromt he bottom up; modernization can not work with out a good foundation in education.
